About Global Pursuit

By now most of you know about our name change in 2007, but for those new to our site, Global Pursuit was formerly Island Pursuit. The new name was chosen to highlight the brands we call "Companies with a Conscience," those that think and act globally. Now that "green" is a marketing buzzword for many businesses we want you to know that this is not a new direction for us, but just a continuation of a path we have been pursuing and broadening since our first link with Patagonia in 1989. We are proud of our long term partnerships with responsible companies and want you to be proud of purchasing products from them too.

A Brief History

In 1975, Andy Moceri started selling wooden sole Swedish clogs in Haddonfield NJ. In 1980 along with his Great Dane, Thor, Eskil's Clog Shop came to Stone Harbor, New Jersey and over the years the store evolved into a popular spot on Third Avenue. Selling all kinds of comfortable footwear and cool T-shirts in an environment complete with funky jazz. In 1989, joined by his wife Lynn, Island Pursuit was opened on 96th Street, offering all kinds of fun and functional sportswear, swim wear and footwear for men and women. Over 20 years later, Global Pursuit has grown in popularity and is a favorite store for locals, part-time residents and vacationers. The owners spend much of their off-season time finding new items at trade shows and researching the company's business practices before committing to orders. With so many brands to choose from, you can now count on finding not only the latest fashions, but those from the most responsible fashion companies available.

Global Pursuit is located in the seashore community of Stone Harbor, New Jersey, far south on the Jersey Cape. Just a stone's throw from the beach, our store sits right in the center of the main shopping street in Stone Harbor. We happily accept phone orders for any of the products that we carry, and we also offer gift cards. All orders can be shipped to you or can be picked up at the store.
