Patagonia
Since 1985 Patagonia has awarded over 19 million Patagonian dollars in grants to grass roots environmental groups making a difference in their local communities. Now, Patagonia has gone one step beyond by forming an alliance of businesses that also commit to contribute 1% of net annual sales to affect real change in their part of the world. Global Pursuit will become a member in July of 2007. This will pave the way for more corporate responsibility in the business world and will recognize the patronage of conscientious consumers. onepercentfortheplanet.org. For 2008-2009 Freedom to Roam, a long-term initiative, is dedicated to establishing migration wildways for animals between protected areas. Patagonia's partners in Freedom to Roam include other companies, conservation organizations and recreation groups.
